  • What is NHS?
NHS stands for the a chapter of the National Honor Society. NHS membership has been the true mark of student achievement for over 100 years, but it goes far beyond a report card. By empowering, championing, and recognizing well-rounded students, NHS provides schools with a values-based framework to elevate a culture of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

    Membership duties:
    - Must maintain a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.3
    - Must have 15 volunteer OR 25 work hours per semester
    - Members must maintain a stellar discipline record
    - Students must be an active member in the club. This includes attending meetings, participating, paying dues, etc.
    - Eligible students will be invited the second semester of their sophomore year.

NHS is a great opportunity for students to gain community service hours. Lennard High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society has participated in numerous volunteer events ranging from inside the school to outside events. Some examples include the Ruskin Seafood Festival, Alzheimer’s Walk, Family Literacy Night at Thompson Elementary, Lennard’s Annual Trunk-or-Treat, and so much more!
