A Hillsborough County Public School
• In the Mid 60's, Anderson's mascot was the ANT. Around 1976, the school changed their mascot to the EAGLE.
• School Colors: navy blue and yellow. Anderson has a mandatory school uniform policy.
• Anderson works with the Interbay YMCA to provide aftercare.
• South Tampa’s Hidden Gem. We are a small school with a great family feel. Many of our students have parents and grandparents that attended Anderson and are proud Eagles.
• Focus on Service Learning. Each quarter a school-wide service learning project is scheduled.
• Students in 4th and 5th grade are selected as Peer Mediators and work with our Guidance Counselor to help students solve problems.
• Students are celebrated each month at our Citizenship Recognition to recognize students that have achieved an academic or personal character goal.
• Students are recognized each grading period at our Awards Assembly.
• PTA plays an active role in our school. PTA sponsors monthly spirit nights, snow-cone incentive for all students each month, Fall Festival, Glow Dance Party, Talent Show and supports all curriculum family nights.
• Fifth graders enjoy leadership opportunities such as Safety Patrol and produce a Daily Morning Positive News Show.
