Dr. Marcos Rodriguez | Principal

Dr. Marcos Rodriguez graduated with his Bachelor's degree from USF in music studies. He began his career as a band director and baseball coach. After several years in the classroom, Dr. Rodriguez graduated with his Master's and Doctoral degrees from the American College of Education in Leadership. Through his time in Hillsborough County he has served as an Assistant Principal for Student Affairs at Lennard High School, Assistant Principal for Administration at Sickles and Bloomingdale Senior High School, and last served as an Assistant Principal for Curriculum at Chamberlain High School. Dr. Rodriguez became the principal of Bloomingdale Senior High School in July of 2020. 
 
Dr. Rodriguez enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He spends his free time coaching baseball, mountain biking, enjoying time with family and friends, and traveling. His message for the school year is "I look forward to making this the best year yet at Bloomingdale Senior High School. This year we are focused on engaging our students in and out of the classroom to help create an atmosphere of collaboration, comradery, and academic excellence.  Our dedicated and talented teaching staff along with our athletic, elective and arts programs make this the place to be. It is truly a special place. Welcome back to another great year at BSHS and GO BULLS!

Mr. Thomas Snyder | Assistant Principal for Curriculum

Mr. Snyder graduated from the University of South Florida with his Bachelor’s degree in English Education. He began his career at Riverview High School serving as an English teacher and department as well as coaching football, track, and mock trial. After earning his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida in 2010, Mr. Snyder began his service as a school administrator at Alonso High School before joining the Bloomingdale Senior High School staff in 2015. In his free time, Mr. Snyder enjoys relaxing with his family and traveling.

Mrs. Sara Bogue | Assistant Principal for Administration

Mrs. Bogue earned her undergrad degree in Physical Education and Health Education from Anderson University (IN) and her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. She has been with Hillsborough County School District since 2006 as a physical education teacher and basketball/swim coach at Newsome High School. Mrs. Bogue spent 3 years at Lennard High School as an Assistant Principal for Student Affairs before joining Bloomingdale in 2020. She currently works as the Assistant Principal for Administration. Mrs. Bogue enjoys spending time with her husband and two children traveling, watching movies, and attending Bloomingdale events! Her favorite quote, “It’s a great day to be a Bull!”

Mr. Anthony Orsano | Assistant Principal for Student Affairs (Last Names A - K)

Mr. Orsano earned his undergraduate degree in English from Rutgers University and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. After moving from New Jersey in 2017, he began his teaching career in Florida in Polk County Schools and joined the Hillsborough School District in 2019 as a Reading teacher at Bloomingdale High School. He is thankful for getting the opportunity to take over the Theatre department in 2021 and helped to grow that program, while continuing to teach English classes as well. In 2023, Mr. Orsano moved into the position of Dean of Climate and Culture at Bloomingdale. This year, he will be an Assistant Principal for Student Affairs and is looking forward to helping our students reach their goals.  Outside of school, Mr. Orsano enjoys spending time with his family (usually at the beach or in the pool), watching his beloved and cursed NY Giants, and randomly running into students at neighborhood stores and restaurants. Go Bulls!

Mrs. Laura Edwards |Assistant Principal for Student Affairs (Last Names L - Z)

My name is Laura Edwards and this is my 26th year working for Hillsborough County Public Schools. This is my second year at BSHS! I got my start in education in elementary where I taught all levels. After a few years in the classroom, I became reading coach, academic intervention specialist and a reading resource teacher before becoming an assistant principal of elementary instruction. I'm married to my husband Bill and a mom of five. My two stepdaughters are now adults. Aeryn is married and has a son named Declan. Aeryn works as a Toddler Development Specialist. Andi graduated from Bloomingdale in 2016 and USF in 2020. She is working as an Intelligence Analyst. My daughter Emma is a Sophomore at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens. She is a pitcher for their softball team and is studying to become a physical trainer. My son Eli is a juniot at Bloomingdale and enjoys baseball and basketball. Evrett is my youngest son who is in 8th grade. He also plays basketball and baseball. During my free time I enjoy being at the ball fields and basketball courts cheering on my kids.
