What is FBLA?
FBLA-Middle Level (FBLA-ML) introduces middle and junior high school students to the world of business through exploring careers and delving into business principles with real-world activities.
FBLA helps students to develop 21st century skills focused on leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, goal setting, and creativity through competitive events, community service, and fundraising. .
Our goals are to:
- Develop competent, aggressive business leadership.
- Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work.
- Create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise.
- Encourage members in the development of individual projects that contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community.
- Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism.
- Encourage and practice efficient money management.
- Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty.
- Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals.
- Facilitate the transition from school to work.

Who Can Join as a Member of the Williams IB FBLA Chapter?
FBLA applications are open to all Year 2 (Grade 7) and Year 3 (Grade 8) students at Williams IB Middle Magnet School. Membership applications must be approved and an membership invitation sent.
How Do I Join?
Application Link: Closed for the current school year.
Students must login with their HCPS Clever information to access and complete the applications.
Students must complete a new membership application form and pay the non-refundable membership dues and after-school club activity fees every school year.
2024-2025 FBLA Fees: $250 for the YearMembership Fee: $250 one-time fee per year (INSTALLMENT 1: Due Wednesday, September 18th & INSTALLMENT 2: Due Friday, October 25th), paid to The Adviser in Room 158 in the form of cash, check, or money order. Please make checks payable to Williams FBLA.Failure to pay by the deadline will automatically forfeit your invitation, and the invitation will be given to the next student on the waiting list.*Additional costs will occur at a later date for students who qualify for State and National Competitions*Scholarship Information

Scholarships are available and priority is given to students who receive free/reduced lunch ONLY and will cover partial OR full cost of the $250 Membership & After-School Club Fee depending on the number of applicants and funds available.*If students advance to State and National competitions, additional fees may be required for participation.
All students who are considered will have to go through an interview process before a final decision. Completing this application does NOT guarantee a scholarship award.Students who are awarded a scholarship will be required to:
- Follow all membership requirements
- Participate in the LEAD Explore Award program
- Participate in chapter community service events
- Participate in chapter fundraising events
What are the Membership Requirements?
- Complete the membership application and pay Membership Dues/Activity fees by the deadline.
- Participate in District Competitive events (Objective & Production Events) & Performance Events
- Participate in District Leadership Conference & Awards Ceremony
- Participate in FBLA Week Activities
- Participate on a chapter committee
- Attend chapter meetings 2-3 times a month
- Wear the appropriate FBLA Dress Code for official events (See Dress Code Examples below in Important Links)
- Follow the Hillsborough County Student Code of Conduct and Williams IB Honor Code
When are the Meetings?

Meetings are usually, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, after school from 3:45-4:45pm.
- Exact meeting dates will be posted in the CANVAS group for paid approved members.
- The first meeting will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
