Mission
The mission of HOSA is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience.
Purpose
The purpose of HOSA-Future Health Professionals is to develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program.
Our goals are to...
- Strengthen academic and technical skills
- Create friendships and social networks
- Expand communication and teamwork skills
- Build self-confidence, motivation and enthusiasm
- Participate in community service activities (some are student-led; 2019 – Anti-Vaping Campaign)
- Understand current healthcare issues
- Prepare for events
- Travel to regional and possibly state and national conference
Competitive Events
All HOSA Chapters in our district meet and compete against each other in events related to health professions.
District winners advance to attend the State Leadership Conference for 3 days.
State winners (event-dependent) advance to the International Leadership Conference.
Who can join as a member of the Williams IB HOSA chapter?
HOSA is open to all Year 1 (6th), Year 2 (7th), and Year 3 (8th) students at Williams Middle Magnet IB
When and where are the HOSA meetings?
Meetings will be held on Thursday mornings from 7:15 AM to 8:15 AM in the Media Center.
First Meeting: September 19th from 7:15 AM - 8:15 AM in the Media Center
