  • 1.    How can I identify the school associated with my residential address?
    All families will be assigned an Attendance Area School based upon your residential address. Our School Locator will allow a family to identify an Attendance Area School based on a residential address.

    2.    What documents will I need to register my child in Hillsborough County Public Schools?
    Information on the documents needed to register can be found under the Enrollment, Withdrawals and Re-entry.

    3.    If I am waiting on base housing, can I enroll in Tinker K-8?
    If you are on the Harbor Bay housing waitlist, contact Tinker at 813-840-2043 to see if you qualify for a Temporary Provisional Placement at Tinker K-8. 

    4.    I am living in TLF on base, where can I register my child for school?
    Elementary and Middle School age children can bring the receipt from TLF and register at Tinker K8 and remain for the current school year. High School Students can bring their receipt from TLF and register at Robinson High School and remain for the school year.

    5.    We will be living in temporary housing until we close on our new home, are we able to register at the attendance area school based on our new home?
    The districts works with families that have not yet closed on a home or waiting for a lease to begin on school enrollment. You can contact the Choice Information Line at (813) 272-4692 for assistance.

    6.    My child has an Individual Education Plan (IEP); If I have questions regarding their IEP and/or services, who can I contact?
    Contact the District Military Liaison at Kim.Sukach@hcps.net to connect with one of the district's Military Staffing Specialist.

    7.    Can we apply for a choice or magnet option without a residential address?
    Yes, the online application system will allow active-duty military families to apply without a local address. You can contact the Choice Information Line at (813) 272-4692 for more information on programs and the application process.

    8.    If we transition during the school year, am I eligible for a magnet or choice placement?
    If you contact the Choice Information Line at (813) 272-4692 and identify yourself as a transitioning active-duty military family, they will work with you on available options.

    9.    Does the Hillsborough County Public Schools offer Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)?
    The district offers VPK at select school sites. For more information, contact the VPK Office at (813) 740-7870 or visit the Early Learning Coalition's website to learn more about VPK.

    10.  What is the age requirement for kindergarten attendance in the state of Florida?

    11.  Where can I find information on homeschooling my child?
    You can access the Home Education website or contact the Home Education office at (813) 983-7278 or via email at home.education@hcps.net.

    12.  Does Hillsborough County offer a virtual option?
