Student Online Safety (SOS)

  • What is Student Online Safety?

It’s not just protecting your kids while they’re on social media, even though that’s most definitely included. Student Online Safety also includes watching for signs of human trafficking and sextortion. It includes resources to make sure your child is protected from pornography and people trying to contact them while gaming. It also includes cyberbullying and how prevent your child from being cyberbullied and becoming a cyberbully.

Hillsborough County Public Schools is a visionary in creating a Human Trafficking Task Force – Bringing together resources from all over the community to educate and provide resources to combat predators that prey on our children online.

We hope you find the resources on this page valuable.

These forums provide valuable resources and information about keeping your children safe online. Board Member Lynn Gray, a founding member of the Human Trafficking Task Force, is planning new Student Online Safety Forums for the 2025-2026 school year. We will keep you updated on those forums.
