To enter the school-based administrative pool, a candidate must participate in the HCPS Administrative Selection Process and successfully pass the screening. Screening scores are valid for five years.  If a participant has not secured a leadership position after five years, they must pass a new administrative screening to remain in the active leadership pool.

In order to prepare, candidates should review the standards-based rubric. Screening questions, reference forms, and role plays will be based on these standards.

Interviews will take place face-to-face or via TEAMS depending on the current situation.

Candidates who have served as Assistant Principals or Principals in another district are expected to go through the selection process, but may be waived from the Future Leaders Academy (FLA) program. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on previous experience and the applicant’s ability to meet the competencies during the screening process.
