Parent School Partnership (PSP)

  • Overview
    To provide a customized “Hillsborough County Public Schools” professional learning series framework to equip families with the skills and strategies that will enable them to become advisors, advocates and decision makers within schools and the community.

    This initiative will have both school and district-level cohorts (available in English and Spanish), with varied tiers of instructional offerings, offered in-person, and virtually.

    Key Components
    Empower parents to learn how to navigate the school system and understand parental rights and responsibilities. 

    Empower parents to better understand curriculum, learning standards and academic expectations for students. 

    Empower parents to effectively advocate for their children’s needs and educational rights. 

    Encourage parents to take on leadership roles on school committees, Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), and other school governance bodies.

    Long-Term Impact
    Increased parent opportunities within schools, linked to learning, contribute to enhanced students’ academic performance at school.
