The 5-Year Facilities Work Plan must be submitted to the FDOE (Florida Department of Education) each year and include a schedule of all major repairs, renovations, and new construction projects as well as details on class size reduction, portable classroom use, and revenues.

As required by the interlocal agreements with the local governments, the School Board approves the tentative work plan and, afterward, it is forwarded, reviewed, and discussed with other public agencies (Hillsborough County, the Planning Commission and the cities of Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Plant City).

The School District’s most recent Long Range School Planning Study was completed by Tindale Oliver in September 2021. A previous long range plan was completed in May 2017. The plans evaluate projected enrollment growth, student generation, maintenance needs, and revenue sources to devise a capacity and business plan.
