Carrollwood K-8 School Board Boundary Changes: Effective: August 2023
Changes to middle school boundaries in northwest Hillsborough County have been proposed as part of Districtwide Attendance Boundary Study that includes Carrollwood Elementary School’s expansion into a prekindergarten through eighth grade school.
These changes, effective August 2023, required two readings of the School Board of Hillsborough County. The changes received final approval at the School Board’s June 6, 2023, meeting. The first reading was held May 9, 2023.
The proposed changes impact portions of Adams and Hill Middle Schools attendance boundaries. Opportunities to provide input on the proposed changes occurred during the weeklong community outreach for the Districtwide redistricting in February 2023. On March 9, 2023, during its workshop, School Board members directed staff to move forward with the Carrollwood K-8 proposed boundaries to support this effort.
The School Board and District staff have been engaged in a districtwide redistricting process. For more information on the districtwide redistricting process, please visit https://www.hcps-boundary.org/home

Just and Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary Schools Board Boundary Changes: Effective August 2023
Changes to elementary school boundaries in central Hillsborough County have been approved as part of Districtwide Attendance Boundary Study that include changing the attendance boundaries for Just Elementary to Booker T. Washington, and Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary schools. This redistricting will allow the repurposing of Just Elementary to serve in the future as a Montessori school.
These changes, effective August 2023, required two readings of the The School Board of Hillsborough County. The changes received final approval at the School Board’s June 6, 2023, meeting. A previous reading was held May 9, 2023.
Initially, the proposal reassigned certain students from Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary School to Alexander Elementary School attendance boundaries; however, it was removed, and placed for first reading on May 9, 2023. Opportunities to provide input on the proposed changes occurred during the weeklong community outreach for the Districtwide redistricting in February 2023. On March 9, 2023, during its workshop, School Board members discussed the Just proposed changes to support the repurposing of an underutilized elementary school.
The School Board and District staff have been engaged in a districtwide redistricting process. For more information on the districtwide redistricting process, please visit https://www.hcps-boundary.org/home

Westshore Area Attendance Boundary Changes
A portion of the Westshore area of Tampa where multiple large, multifamily developments are planned will be reassigned effective August 2022. The School District proposed to adjust this recently adopted boundary change to remove an existing apartment building from the reassignment area.
The previously approved attendance boundary changes included the reassignment of the Mosaic Westshore apartment building from Grady Elementary, Coleman Middle, and Plant High Schools to Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary, Pierce Middle, and Jefferson High Schools. Staff concluded that no public school students were located at the apartment building’s address based on the available geocoded student data. After the School Board approval, staff was alerted that public students resided at the Mosaic Westshore apartment building.
Since this change was not proposed to impact existing students, District staff corrected this issue by placing the Mosaic Westshore apartment building back into the Grady Elementary, Coleman Middle and Plant High School attendance boundaries. Staff has also alerted the Principal, the Mosaic Westshore apartments and, due to the error in address data, the District’s IT Department and City of Tampa Addressing Department. This change was not effective until August 2022, so staff completed this update prior to the school locator results showing any reassignments.
